Roy Slade
British/American b.1933

Slade, Roy was born on July 14, 1933 in Cardiff, United Kingdom. Slade Studied at the Cardiff College of Art in 1954 and came to the United States in 1967, becoming a naturalised citizen in 1975. He was a Lecturer of art at Clarendon College, Nottingham, England and later Senior lecturer fine art Leeds College Art, England. In America he was Professor of painting and later Dean of Corcoran School Art, Washington, before becoming Director at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. After this he was President, director Cranbrook Academy Art, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, 1977-1994, now director emeritus.
