Leonard Richmond
(British 1889-1965)
Painter, teacher and writer who studied at Taunton School of Art and Chelsea Polytechnic. He was a prolific exhibitor at Fine Art Society, RA, Cooling and Walker’s Galleries. Also showed widely overseas, winning a number of awards. These included the Tuthill Prize at Chicago International Watercolour Exhibition, 1928, and in 1947 silver medal at Paris Salon. Having carried out war commission work for Canadian government in World War I, Richmond went on to paint and lecture in Canada in mid-1920s and several years later in America. Was a member of PS, RBA, RI and ROI.
